Navigating Iceland’s Natural Wonders

Iceland’s diverse landscapes require careful planning. As your elopement photographer, I’ll guide you to lesser-known locations, ensuring an intimate experience away from crowds. Be aware of changing weather conditions and road closures, and consider unique transportation options like helicopter excursions for a private elopement.

Making Your Icelandic Elopement Official

To legally marry in Iceland, obtain a marriage license from the District Commissioner’s Office. An authorized officiant must perform the ceremony, and the marriage certificate is then registered. Familiarize yourself with the process to make your Icelandic elopement official. Once we set you up with your officiant, they also help guide you through this process for easy planning!

Fees and Permits for Icelandic Elopements

Certain locations may require permits, and entry fees might apply. I’ll assist you in securing necessary permits and provide guidance on fees for your chosen elopement location. Larger wedding parties need permits, and eloping in the town of Vik, for instance, requires a special permit. However, the National Parks don’t require a permit to get married!

Safety and Wildlife Awareness

Iceland’s natural hazards are part of its allure. Stay informed, be prepared, and respect the environment. Wildlife such as puffins and seals inhabit coastal areas—observe from a distance and prioritize safety. The waters at Black Sand Beach are quite tumulus as well. Never turn your back on them and remain far from the water’s edge. There are a type of wave called ‘sneaker waves’ that can travel far up the beach and have taken people out to sea. As long as you follow the beach’s guidelines and colour barometer for safety, you’re good to go. And no worries, we are here to inform you of safety precautions and guide you through this journey!
